Зима в Україні багата на гарні і веселі свята. Одне з найулюбленіших свят для всіх дітей — це День Святого Миколая. Раніше його святкували 19 грудня, але тепер Україна святкує його 6 грудня. Це дуже світле, добре і магічне свято.

Святий Миколай — це не просто казковий персонаж. Це історична людина, яка жила дуже давно. Він був дуже добрим і допомагав бідним людям і сиротам. Він робив це таємно, вночі, щоб ніхто його не бачив. Тому зараз Миколай приносить подарунки дітям вночі, поки вони міцно сплять.

Діти дуже чекають на це свято цілий рік. Вони намагаються бути слухняними, добре вчитися і допомагати батькам. Вважається, що Святий Миколай бачить все і знає, хто був добрим, а хто — неслухняним. За кілька тижнів до свята діти пишуть йому листи.

У листах діти розповідають про свої добрі справи і просять подарунки. Вони кладуть листи на вікно, щоб помічники Миколая — янголи — могли їх забрати. Деякі діти просять іграшки, телефони або солодощі, а деякі просять здоров'я для своєї сім'ї.

Ввечері 5 грудня діти лягають спати з великим нетерпінням. Вони закривають очі і чекають на магію. Вночі Святий Миколай тихо приходить у кожний дім. Він кладе подарунки під подушку або в черевики біля ліжка.

Ранок 6 грудня — це найщасливіший час! Діти прокидаються дуже рано і відразу шукають подарунки під подушкою. Слухняні діти знаходять там омріяні іграшки, цікаві книжки, шоколад і мандарини. У будинку пахне святом і цитрусовими.

А що отримують неслухняні діти? За традицією, Святий Миколай приносить їм маленьку дерев'яну різку. Різка — це гілочка дерева. Це означає, що дитина повинна подумати про свою поведінку. Але батьки дуже люблять своїх дітей, тому навіть неслухняні діти зазвичай отримують солодощі разом із різкою.

У день свята українці часто ходять до церкви. Також у школах і дитячих садках проходять веселі концерти. Діти співають пісні про Миколая, танцюють і розповідають вірші. До них у гості приходить актор у костюмі Святого Миколая і дарує великі пакети з цукерками.

Для дорослих це свято також важливе. У цей день прийнято допомагати тим, хто цього потребує. Багато людей купують іграшки і солодощі для дітей, у яких немає батьків. Благодійність — це головна ідея цього свята.

Свято Миколая відкриває сезон зимових свят в Україні. Після нього люди починають ставити ялинки вдома і на вулицях. Міста стають дуже красивими, все світиться різнокольоровими вогнями.

Це свято вчить нас бути добрими, чесними і допомагати один одному. Воно приносить у життя багато радості і магії. Діти вірять у дива, а дорослі згадують своє щасливе дитинство.
