Large festivals often have several different stages operating at the same time. You can check the schedule and choose which musicians you want to see. Sometimes it is quite difficult to choose because two of your favorite bands might be playing on different stages at exactly the same time.
The general atmosphere at a summer music festival is usually very friendly and relaxed. People often wear bright, colorful clothes and many have sparkling glitter on their faces or hair. Everyone is there with the same goal: to have a good time and enjoy the performances. You can meet people from many different countries and backgrounds. It is a fantastic place to make new friends who like the same kind of music as you do.
Food and drinks are also a very important part of the entire festival experience. Festivals usually have dozens of food stalls that sell many different things. You can try interesting street food from different parts of the world. There are usually burgers, pizzas, spicy noodles, and many different dessert options like ice cream or crepes. Eating outside on the grass with your friends is very enjoyable. You can sit down, rest, and still listen to the music while you eat your lunch.
Besides the main musical performances, festivals often have many other fun activities. You can find small markets and shops that sell handmade jewelry, cool posters, or vintage clothes. There might be some creative workshops where you can learn how to dance or how to make traditional art. Some large festivals even have outdoor cinemas or special areas for comedy shows. There is always something interesting to see or do between the concerts.
Safety and health are very important at these large public events. Festivals always have many security guards, police officers, and medical tents with doctors. There are also many places throughout the festival site where you can refill your own water bottle for free.
