I am Sara . Last month my friends Tom and Anna and I took a coach to the coast for a weekend by the sea . We booked tickets online and arrived at the station before seven in the morning . The bus was full , and many passengers were sleeping as we were leaving the city . Tom was listening to music when Anna was reading a guide about beaches and cliff paths . I was looking out of the window at fields and small villages . Two hours later the driver was slowing down on a country road near a farm . The engine was making a strange noise when the bus stopped completely . People were waking up and asking what was happening . The driver was speaking on his radio while we were waiting in our seats . He said a mechanic was coming from the next town . Some passengers were walking outside to stretch their legs in the fresh air . While we were standing near a fence , a farmer was driving a tractor across the field . Cows were watching us with calm faces . Anna was taking photos , and Tom was buying cold drinks from a machine at a small shop . After forty minutes a yellow van arrived , and a mechanic was checking the engine at the back . The driver was explaining the problem to a few worried tourists . We were sitting on the grass and playing cards to pass the time . The mechanic was working for an hour while clouds were moving slowly above the hills . Finally the driver announced that the bus was ready again . People were clapping when we were boarding in a line . We were driving toward the coast when the sea appeared between two white cliffs . The sun was shining on the water while gulls were flying low over the waves . Anna was shouting with joy because the delay was forgotten . When we reached the hotel , staff were preparing rooms for late arrivals . We were checking in quickly and running to the beach with our bags . The day felt long , but the first swim in cold water made everything worth the wait . That trip taught us that travel plans can change on quiet country roads . We were travelling , the bus was breaking down , and strangers were helping time pass with patience . When we finally saw the sea , we were laughing together on the front seat .
