I am Mia . Last Sunday my grandma Rosa visited our house for lunch . After we washed the dishes , she sat in the armchair by the window and told my brother and me stories about her younger days in a small village near the mountains . She said she left school at sixteen and began work in a bakery on the main street . The owner taught her to shape bread before sunrise and to keep the oven at the right temperature . Rosa woke at four on cold mornings and walked to work in the dark with a scarf around her head . One winter she met our grandpa Tomas at a dance in the town hall . He wore a dark jacket and brought her a cup of hot tea when her hands felt stiff from the cold hall . They spoke for an hour and met again the following weekend at the market . Rosa told us she saved money for two years and bought a blue bicycle with thin tyres . She rode it to the bakery and along the river path on quiet Sundays . Once she fell near a bridge , but a neighbour helped her stand and checked the wheel before she rode home slowly . When Tomas asked her to marry him , she said yes on a bench in the same park where we play today . They moved to our city after their first child was born because work was easier to find near the factory . Rosa kept letters from her mother in a box under her bed for many years . My brother asked if she felt afraid when she moved away from the village . She said she felt sad but also hopeful . New streets , new neighbours , and new routines took time , yet the family grew close in the small flat they rented near the tram line . Before Rosa left our house , she gave us two old photos from her tin box . One showed her on the bicycle by the river . The other showed Tomas holding their first baby outside the bakery door . We placed the pictures on the shelf and promised to visit her again next month . Grandma's stories made the past feel close and real . She worked hard , she rode long paths , and she built a life step by step with patience and care . I wrote her words in my notebook and read them again before I slept that night .
