I am Hannah . Last Sunday felt calm after a busy summer of work at the bookshop near the station . My flat smelled of coffee and clean laundry when I opened the balcony door at nine . I made toast and read messages from my brother in Leeds . He wrote about his new flatmate and a concert they attended on Friday night . I replied with a photo of my desk and a note about books I finished in August . In the afternoon I walked to the park with my neighbour Iris . We talked about the new term at the college where we both study design . Iris showed me sketches for a poster project due in October . Near the lake we sat on a bench and watched ducks move between reeds . Iris said she felt nervous about public speaking in her first seminar . I told her I practiced short talks in front of a mirror last year with good results . At home I sorted folders and labelled notebooks for three courses . I checked the timetable online and wrote deadlines on a calendar above the fridge . One professor posted reading lists early , so I copied titles into a small app on my phone . Before dinner I called my parents . Mom asked if I ate well during the last week of summer shifts . Dad joked about my habit of buying too many pens before each term starts . We laughed and planned a visit when they are going to travel south in November . After the call I listed tasks for Monday . I am going to buy course books at the campus shop before my afternoon class . Iris is going to join me because she is going to need the same grammar guide for our language module . Tuesday I am going to meet the study group we formed last spring . We are going to share notes about summer internships and choose a meeting room at the library . One member is going to bring coffee because early lectures always feel long in autumn . On Wednesday the design studio is going to open for evening practice sessions . I am going to work on layout exercises while soft music plays in the background . My tutor is going to review drafts on Thursday morning during office hours . I also wrote a short list of personal goals for autumn beyond coursework . I want to swim twice a week at the public pool , cook more meals at home , and call my grandmother every Sunday evening . These habits are small , but they are going to keep my routine balanced when assignment deadlines are going to pile up near Christmas . In the evening Iris sent a photo of fabric samples for her poster project . She is going to choose two colour palettes by Monday and is going to print test strips at the campus lab . I replied that I am going to meet her at the tram stop on Monday morning so we are going to arrive at the shop together before it is going to open .
