Last month my partner and I drove to a small mountain village for a quiet weekend away from city noise . We left home on Friday at six in the evening because traffic eased after rush hour , and we arrived at the guesthouse on Pine Road at nine when stars appeared above the hills . The owner Mrs Vega welcomed us with tea , and she explained breakfast times because guests eat together at eight on Saturdays in the dining room . My partner enjoys sketching landscapes , and I like writing notes about sounds in the forest when wind moves through pines above the path . On Sunday we packed at seven , and Mrs Vega gave us jars of honey because she appreciated polite guests who cleaned rooms before leaving . We drove home slowly on country roads , and we stopped at a lake for photos when light turned soft near five in the evening . Back in the city on Monday we felt calmer at work , and colleagues noticed our mood because smiles came easier after rest . I still think about that village when weeks grow heavy , and I plan another visit in autumn when leaves change colour on slopes we saw from the guesthouse window . The trip did not solve every problem , but it reminded us that small journeys create space for conversation , curiosity , and habits we forget when alarms control each hour at home .
