A fictional camp story uses a group astronomy activity to teach a verified fact about moonlight.
Mi grupo tenía una tarjeta con una imagen de la Luna. Ana leía la tarjeta, Diego escribía palabras nuevas y yo dibujaba un círculo grande. Queríamos hacer un cartel sencillo para otros grupos.
En la tarjeta aprendimos un dato sorprendente: la Luna no produce su propia luz. La luz que vemos es luz del Sol reflejada en la superficie de la Luna. Miramos la imagen otra vez y entendimos por qué una parte estaba clara y otra parte oscura.
Después, cada grupo presentó su cartel. Nosotros explicamos el dato con tres frases cortas. No usamos palabras difíciles. Los otros niños hicieron preguntas y añadimos respuestas al cartel.
Al final, la monitora leyó un cuento para terminar la tarde. Era una historia sobre una astronauta llamada Vera. Al terminar, nos sentimos orgullosos de nuestro cartel y de las palabras nuevas.
