El primer paso fue diseñar mi robot en un papel. Quería que pudiera moverse por sí solo usando un motor pequeño. Dibujé diferentes formas hasta encontrar una que fuera estable y tuviera espacio para todos los componentes.
Construí el cuerpo del robot con una caja de zapatos. Le corté ventanas para que pareciera más interesante. Usé dos tapas de botellas grandes como ruedas y un rollo de papel higiénico como eje central. Todo lo uní con cinta adhesiva fuerte.
Mi padre me ayudó a conectar el motor eléctrico que saqué de un juguete viejo. Explicó cómo funcionan los circuitos simples y qué hace que un motor gire. Aprendí que la electricidad necesita un camino completo para funcionar correctamente.
Cuando conecté las pilas por primera vez, el robot se movió lentamente sobre la mesa. No era perfecto, se tambaleaba un poco, pero avanzaba. Me sentí increíblemente feliz de ver algo que yo había construido funcionando realmente.
Los días siguientes, mejoré mi robot agregando sensores hechos con papel aluminio. Cuando el robot tocaba una pared, el circuito se cerraba y el motor cambiaba de dirección. Era fascinante ver cómo respondía a su entorno.
Presenté mi proyecto en la feria de ciencias de la escuela. Los niños más pequeños querían saber cómo lo había hecho. Me di cuenta de que podía enseñarles que la tecnología no solo se compra en tiendas, sino que también podemos crearla nosotros mismos con materiales simples.
