Ir al cine es una de las experiencias más emocionantes para un niño. Durante mucho tiempo, siempre fui con mamá o papá. Ellos compraban las entradas, elegían las butacas y compraban las palomitas. Yo solo tenía que disfrutar la película y sentirme seguro.

Este mes todo cambió. Cumplí nueve años y mis padres me dijeron que era hora de ser más independiente. Mi mejor amigo Lucas también cumplió años la misma semana. Nuestros padres hablaron entre ellos y decidieron dejarnos ir solos al cine por primera vez.

La semana antes de ir, pensaba constantemente en ese día. Me sentía emocionado pero también un poco nervioso. ¿Y si nos perdemos? ¿Y si no encontramos nuestras butacas? ¿Y si necesitamos ayuda y no hay nadie cerca?

Lucas vino a mi casa el sábado por la mañana. Traía su mochila con agua y algunos dulces. Mis padres nos dieron instrucciones claras. Nos explicaron cómo llegar al cine, dónde comprar las entradas y qué hacer en caso de emergencia. Nos dieron un teléfono antiguo de mi papá para llamarlos si algo salía mal.

Caminamos juntos hasta el centro comercial donde está el cine. El sol brillaba y había mucha gente en la calle. Hablamos sobre la película que íbamos a ver, una aventura de superhéroes que esperábamos ver desde hacía meses.

Llegamos al cine quince minutos antes de la sesión. Había una fila pequeña en la taquilla. Cuando fue nuestro turno, dije claramente que queríamos dos entradas para la película de las cuatro. La señora de la taquilla nos sonrió y nos dio las entradas. ¡Lo logramos!

Entramos en la sala y buscamos nuestras butacas. Estaban en la mitad de la fila, justo donde nos gusta sentarnos. El lugar estaba medio lleno, principalmente con otros niños y sus familias. Algunos adolescentes estaban en las filas de atrás, riendo y hablando en voz alta.

Las luces se apagaron y comenzaron los anuncios. Lucas y yo comimos nuestras palomitas y bebimos nuestra agua. Cuando comenzó la película, nos quedamos completamente callados. La historia era increíble, con mucha acción y efectos especiales asombrosos.

Durante la película, me sentí muy concentrado. No pensaba en mis padres ni en estar solo. Solo disfrutaba la historia y los personajes. Lucas se reía en las partes graciosas y yo también. A veces nos mirábamos y asentíamos, impresionados por las escenas de acción.

Cuando terminó la película, las luces volvieron a encenderse. Salimos de la sala y fuimos al baño. Luego caminamos de regreso a mi casa, hablando sin parar sobre nuestras partes favoritas. Nos sentíamos grandes y responsables.
