Antes de cenar, mi primo Dani y yo extendimos una lona sobre la hierba. Después montamos la tienda de campaña. Él sujetó los palos y yo clavé las estacas. La tienda quedó firme y seca por dentro.
Al caer la tarde, preparamos una cena sencilla en la cocina de la casa. Luego salimos con una linterna frontal, una esterilla y dos mantas. Cerramos bien la cremallera de la tienda para no perder calor.
El cielo estaba despejado. En el hemisferio norte, la Estrella Polar indica aproximadamente el norte. Dani la encontró con una aplicación y después la buscó sin la pantalla. Yo seguí su dedo y vi una estrella pequeña.
Antes de entrar en la tienda, guardamos la comida en una caja cerrada. También recogimos las tazas y apagamos las luces. En la oscuridad escuché el viento entre los árboles y el susurro de las hojas.
Al principio me costó dormirme. La humedad de la noche enfrió la lona y cada ruido parecía enorme. Respiré despacio, acomodé la manta y pronto estuve más tranquilo de lo que esperaba.
Por la mañana abrí la cremallera y vi gotas sobre la hierba. Guardamos cada objeto y dejamos el jardín limpio. Mi primera noche de camping terminó con pan tostado y una conversación sobre las estrellas.
