Mi profesor se llama Lucas y es un artista profesional. Lo primero que nos enseñó fue la importancia de los colores primarios: rojo, azul y amarillo. Nos explicó que mezclando estos tres colores podemos crear todos los demás colores del arcoíris. Hicimos un ejercicio práctico mezclando azul y amarillo para obtener verde, y rojo y azul para hacer violeta. Fue como hacer magia con mis propias manos.
Después, Lucas nos dio un papel grande y grueso y unos carboncillos. Nos pidió que dibujáramos formas sencillas como círculos, cuadrados y triángulos. Al principio, mis manos se mancharon de negro, pero aprendí que el carboncillo es excelente para crear sombras y luces en los dibujos. Practiqué cómo hacer que una esfera pareciera una pelota real añadiendo sombras oscuras en un lado y luces blancas en el otro.
En la segunda parte de la clase usamos acuarelas. Las acuarelas son pinturas que se mezclan con mucha agua para crear efectos suaves y transparentes. Aprendí que no necesito mucha pintura para que el color se vea bonito. Mojé el pincel en el agua, luego en el color azul y pinté un cielo despejado sobre mi papel. Me gustó mucho ver cómo el agua extendía el color de forma natural por toda la hoja.
Mis compañeros de clase también son niños de mi edad y todos estábamos muy concentrados en nuestros trabajos. Algunos dibujaban animales, otros paisajes y otros simplemente formas abstractas. Lucas pasaba por cada mesa para darnos consejos y ayudarnos a mejorar. Me dijo que mi dibujo de un árbol tenía mucha personalidad y que usaba muy bien los diferentes tonos de verde.
Aprendí que para pintar bien hay que observar mucho la realidad. Lucas nos pidió que miráramos por la ventana y viéramos los colores de las hojas, del cielo y de los edificios. Me di cuenta de que el mundo no tiene solo unos pocos colores, sino miles de matices diferentes. Ahora, cuando camino por la calle, me fijo en cómo la luz cambia el color de las cosas según la hora del día.
Tener los materiales adecuados también es muy importante. Tengo un juego de pinceles nuevos que son muy suaves. Hay pinceles planos para pintar áreas grandes y pinceles redondos muy finos para los detalles pequeños. También uso una paleta de plástico para mezclar mis colores. Es fundamental mantener los pinceles limpios después de cada clase para que no se estropeen y siempre estén listos.
Lo que más me gusta de la pintura es que puedo expresar mis sentimientos sin usar palabras. Si estoy feliz, uso colores brillantes como el naranja y el amarillo.
