Al principio, sentí un poco de nervios en mi estómago. No sabía exactamente qué iba a pasar allí. Mi madre se sentó a mi lado en la cama y me explicó todo con calma. Me dijo que el dentista es un médico especial que cuida nuestra boca. Él nos ayuda a tener unos dientes sanos y una sonrisa muy bonita.
Después de escuchar a mi madre, me sentí mucho mejor. Fui al baño y me lavé los dientes con mucho cuidado. Usé mi cepillo favorito de color azul y mucha pasta de dientes con sabor a fresa. Quería que mis dientes estuvieran perfectos y muy limpios para la visita.
Salimos de casa y caminamos hasta la clínica dental. Era un edificio grande con ventanas muy claras. Al entrar, vi una sala de espera muy bonita y colorida. Había sillas muy cómodas, una mesa pequeña y muchos libros de cuentos. También había una caja llena de juguetes divertidos.
Me senté en una silla roja y tomé un libro sobre animales de la selva. Mientras miraba los dibujos de los leones y los elefantes, esperaba mi turno con paciencia. Mi madre hablaba con la señora que estaba en la recepción. Todo parecía muy tranquilo y normal.
Poco tiempo después, una enfermera muy simpática salió por una puerta y dijo mi nombre en voz alta. Ella me sonrió y me invitó a pasar a una habitación diferente. En el centro de esta nueva habitación, había una silla enorme y brillante. Parecía la silla de mando de una nave espacial.
La enfermera me pidió que me sentara en esa silla tan especial. Era muy suave y cómoda. Me puso un babero de papel de color azul claro alrededor del cuello. Me explicó que era para no ensuciar mi ropa con agua. Luego, tocó un botón pequeño en la pared.
De repente, la silla empezó a moverse hacia atrás lentamente. ¡Fue como estar en una pequeña atracción de feria! Me sentí como un astronauta preparándose para un viaje al espacio. La enfermera me explicó todos los instrumentos que había cerca de la silla para que no tuviera miedo.
Unos minutos después, el dentista entró en la habitación. Llevaba una bata muy blanca y una mascarilla de tela sobre su boca y nariz. Aunque tenía la cara cubierta, pude ver que tenía unos ojos muy amables. Se presentó como el doctor Martínez y me saludó chocando los cinco.
El doctor Martínez encendió una luz redonda y muy fuerte justo encima de mi cara. Me pidió que abriera la boca muy, muy grande, como si fuera un hipopótamo bostezando. Yo abrí la boca todo lo que pude para que él pudiera ver todos mis dientes sin problemas.
