es muy antiguo e importante. Las pinturas más famosas se encuentran en la cueva de Altamira en el norte de España. Esta cueva fue descubierta en 1879 por un arqueólogo y su hija. Las pinturas de Altamira muestran bisontes, ciervos y caballos en colores rojo y negro.

Los arqueólogos estudian estas pinturas para entender la vida de los primeros humanos. Las pinturas nos muestran qué animales vivían en esa época. También nos hablan de las creencias y rituales de las personas prehistóricas. El arte era una forma de comunicación antes de la escritura.

Hoy en día, es difícil visitar la cueva de Altamira. Para proteger las pinturas, solo permiten entrar a muy pocas personas. Sin embargo, hay un museo y una réplica de la cueva que los visitantes pueden ver. Esta réplica es exacta y permite apreciar el arte sin dañar el original.
