Cuando llego a un hotel nuevo, voy directamente a la recepción. Los empleados están detrás del mostrador. Siempre me saludan con una sonrisa.
El check-in
El proceso de llegada se llama check-in. Necesito mostrar mi pasaporte. También doy el número de mi reserva.
La recepcionista busca mi nombre en el ordenador. Verifica que la reserva es correcta. Me pide una tarjeta de crédito para garantía.
Me da una llave o una tarjeta magnética. Con ella abro la puerta de mi habitación. Es importante no perderla.
Las preguntas habituales
En la recepción puedo hacer muchas preguntas. Pregunto a qué hora es el desayuno. También pregunto la contraseña del wifi.
Si no sé cómo subir a mi habitación, pido ayuda. El recepcionista explica dónde están los ascensores. A veces me acompaña hasta la habitación.
Puedo pedir información sobre la ciudad. El personal conoce bien los alrededores. Recomiendan restaurantes y lugares de interés.
Servicios disponibles
La recepción ofrece varios servicios. Puedo cambiar dinero allí. También piden taxis para los huéspedes.
Si necesito despertador, lo pido en recepción. Me llaman por teléfono a la hora indicada. Así no llego tarde a mis citas.
Algunos hoteles guardan el equipaje. Si llego antes de la hora de entrada, dejan mis maletas. Puedo explorar la ciudad sin carga.
Resolviendo problemas
Cuando tengo problemas, voy a la recepción. Si la televisión no funciona, aviso allí. Si el aire acondicionado está roto, también.
Una vez perdí la llave de mi habitación. El recepcionista me dio otra. Me hizo un pequeño discurso sobre tener cuidado.
Si estoy enfermo, me ayudan a encontrar un médico. Tienen lista de farmacias de guardia. Se preocupan por mi bienestar.
El check-out
Al irme del hotel, hago el check-out. Voy a la recepción y devuelvo la llave. Pago si debo algo.
El recepcionista revisa la habitación por teléfono. Confirma que no hay daños. Si todo está bien, me da la factura.
Puedo pedir que guarden mi equipaje después del check-out. Así aprovecho las últimas horas en la ciudad. Es un servicio muy útil.
Mi experiencia
Recuerdo un recepcionista especialmente amable. Estaba en un hotel de Sevilla. Hablaba tres idiomas perfectamente.
Me explicó la historia del edificio. Era un palacio antiguo reformado. Me dio un mapa con rutas pintorescas.
Las personas de la recepción marcan la diferencia. Un buen servicio mejora mi estancia. Vuelvo a los hoteles donde me tratan bien.
