Our body has a normal temperature. When we are sick, our body gets hot. We have a fever. Then we need to rest and drink water.
In summer, the weather is hot. The sun shines strong. We wear light clothes. We drink cold water. We swim in cool water. We stay in the shade.
In winter, the weather is cold. The wind is cold. We wear warm clothes. We wear coats and hats. We drink hot tea. We stay inside near the heater.
Some foods are hot. Soup is hot. Coffee is hot. Fresh bread is hot. Hot food tastes good when it is cold outside.
Some foods are cold. Ice cream is cold. Salad is cold. Cold water is good when it is hot outside. Cold food is refreshing.
We use a thermometer to measure temperature. It tells us how hot or cold something is. Doctors use thermometers to check our body temperature.
Hot and cold are important for life. We need warm to survive. We need cool to feel comfortable. Our body can feel both hot and cold.
