Nina baked bread in a small shop on a quiet street . She wanted one new cafe to buy her bread . One day , just before noon , a man named Omar came in . He had a cafe on North Street , and he wanted fresh bread in the morning . He liked the smell in the shop . He tried a piece of the brown loaf and nodded . " This is the bread I want , " he said . " Can you come to my cafe and talk ? " Nina looked for her business cards . The box on the shelf was empty . She gave her last card away the day before and forgot to get more . Omar smiled and took a card from his pocket . On the card she saw his name , the name of the cafe , his phone number , and his email address . " Call me , " he said . " Or send an email . " Nina put the card on the counter , next to the till . Then a woman came in and asked for a large bag of rolls . Nina turned to pack the bag . When she looked back , the card was not on the counter . She checked the floor . She checked her apron pocket . The card was gone . The woman said she did not take it . Nina looked under the till . The card was there , face down , in a little dust . She picked it up . The phone number was hard to read . Water from the sink made the last numbers light and grey . The cafe name was still clear : North Street Cafe . Nina knew that street . She finished her work , locked the shop , and walked there with the wet card in her hand . Omar was outside with some chairs . He looked surprised , and then he smiled . " You found me , " he said . " You did not even have the phone number . " " I could not read the number , " Nina said . " Your name and the cafe were enough . " She gave him one of her own cards . On the way she stopped at a copy shop and got a small pile . Her name , her shop , her phone number , and her email were easy to read . Omar put the card in his wallet at once . " I will not put this on a wet counter , " he said . " Come tomorrow morning . We can drink coffee , taste the bread , and talk . " Nina walked home in the dark . She wanted to take warm bread to his cafe in the morning . She did not know his answer yet . She wanted him to say yes .
