My parents are going to take two weeks off in late July when school finishes for my brother Ben. Dad is going to drive us there on a Saturday morning to avoid heavy traffic on the main road. Mom is going to pack snacks and water bottles for the journey because Ben gets hungry quickly in the car.
Ben is going to learn to swim better this year with lessons at the town pool. At the coast he is going to practice in the shallow water near the pier with Dad watching from the shore. I am going to bring my snorkel mask because the water is going to be clear in early summer near the rocks.

Before we leave home I am going to buy a new sun hat and sandals for long walks on the sand. Mom is going to check the weather forecast every day during the week before travel. If rain is going to fall for two days we are going to bring board games and extra books for quiet evenings indoors.
Ben is going to collect shells in a jar to show his class in September when school starts again. I am going to keep a simple diary of our meals, walks, and funny moments from the trip. Dad says the holiday is going to help us forget office stress and phone alarms for a while.
Near the end of the week we are going to visit a boat tour that leaves from the harbour at ten in the morning. The guide is going to explain local birds and fish while we sit on open seats with wind in our faces. Mom is going to bring a light jacket because the breeze on the water feels cool even on sunny days.
