Reporter: Why did so many families join?
Kate: Because the charity didn't charge high fees, and children didn't need special equipment. Did local shops donate water? Yes, three shops did. Did the mayor give a short speech? Yes, she did, and she didn't stay for the whole race.
Reporter: How did you feel when the last participant finished?
Kate: Relieved and happy. I didn't sit down for hours, and I didn't eat until two o'clock. Did teammates thank volunteers? Yes, many runners did at the finish line. Did we raise enough money for the youth centre? Yes, we did, slightly more than last year.
Reporter: Did you plan to repeat the event next spring?
