Halloween is on October thirty-first. Children dress up in costumes. They go from house to house and say "trick or treat." People give them candy. Some people have parties or watch scary movies on Halloween.
Independence Day is in July in the United States. There are fireworks in the evening. People have barbecues and picnics with friends. Families spend time together outside.
Mother's Day and Father's Day are days to honor parents. Children give cards and gifts to their mothers and fathers. Families often have a special meal together on these days.
Birthdays are personal holidays for each person. People have birthday parties with cake and candles. Friends and family give gifts. The birthday person makes a wish and blows out the candles.
These holidays bring people together. They are times for family and friends. They help people remember what is important in life.
