In the morning, we go to the school gym. The gym is a big room with a high ceiling. We wear special clothes for sports. I wear a white T-shirt and blue shorts. I wear sports shoes too. My shoes are white and comfortable. They help me run fast.
First, we do warm-up exercises. We run in a circle. We stretch our arms and legs. We jump up and down. Mr. Smith says warm-up is important. It prevents injuries. After warm-up, we feel ready to play.
Sometimes we play volleyball in the gym. We divide into two teams. Each team has six players. The net is in the middle of the court. We hit the ball over the net with our hands. The ball cannot touch the floor on our side. If the ball touches the floor, the other team gets a point. Volleyball is fun but it makes me tired.
When the weather is good, we go outside. We play on the school playground. The playground has grass and a running track. We play football outside. Mr. Smith blows a whistle to start the game. We run after the ball. We try to score goals. The game lasts for forty minutes. After the game, we drink water and rest.
In winter, we sometimes go to the school swimming pool. The pool is indoors. The water is warm. We wear swimsuits and swimming caps. We learn how to swim properly. Mr. Smith teaches us different styles. I can swim on my back and on my front. Swimming is good exercise for the whole body.
Once a year, our school has a sports day. All students participate. There are many competitions. We run races. We jump long and high. We throw balls. Parents come to watch. My mother and father always come. They cheer for me. Last year, I won a race. I got a small medal. I was very proud.
Sports at school teach us important things. We learn to work in teams. We learn to follow rules. We learn to be fair. We learn to respect other players. Mr. Smith says sports build character. He says sports make us strong in body and mind.
I have many friends in sports class. We help each other. When someone is slow, we encourage them. When someone wins, we congratulate them. We do not laugh at mistakes. We support everyone. This makes sports class happy and friendly.
I look forward to sports days every week. It is a break from normal classes. I can move my body and play games. I feel energetic after sports. My grades are better when I exercise regularly. Sports at school are very important for me.
