There is a big market in our town every Saturday morning . It starts at eight o'clock on the main square . Vendors arrive early and set up their stands in long rows on the square . By nine o'clock , everything is in its place and the market is open . The vegetable stands are in the first row on the left side of the square . Tomatoes , carrots , and peppers sit in baskets on the tables . The cheese seller works in a white tent at the center of the market . She keeps her best cheeses in a glass box on the counter . I go to the market with my father on Saturday mornings . We start at the bread stand at the entrance . The baker puts fresh loaves on a long wooden shelf in front of his stand . He puts sweet rolls on the shelf below . We always buy a loaf and two rolls . After the bread stand , we walk to the flower area at the far end of the market . Buckets of flowers stand on the ground in front of the stalls . My father buys sunflowers for my mother . He puts them carefully in a paper bag . There are food stalls in the middle of the market . People eat at tall tables near the stalls . You can get soup in a cup , grilled sausages on a stick , or apple juice in a glass . A musician plays guitar at the corner near the entrance . I like looking at the craft stalls on the right side of the market . There are wooden toys on shelves , pottery on small tables , and jewelry in glass boxes . Everything sits in neat rows or in little baskets . We finish our visit at the honey seller near the clock tower . She keeps many types of honey in glass jars on a long table . My father always buys a dark jar . She puts it carefully in a paper bag . At eleven o'clock , the market starts to close . Vendors pack their goods into boxes and bags . They load everything into vans parked at the edge of the square . By noon , the square is quiet again . I enjoy Saturday mornings at the market . It is one of my favorite places in our town .
