Nina wants to meet her cousin Leo at a small cafe near the station . She is in a city she does not know well , and the sky is already gray . Leo will wait for her , but she does not want him to wait in the rain . Her phone is in her hand . She opens a weather app first . It shows the temperature and the forecast for the afternoon . Rain is coming , and the app shows a warning about strong wind , so Nina goes back upstairs . She takes a warmer jacket from her bag . Those extra minutes feel better than a cold walk later . Then she opens a map . She searches for the cafe and looks at the route . On foot the journey is long , and the map shows heavy traffic on the main road . A bus goes past the station , so she chooses the bus . At the stop she checks the map again . Her blue dot is still on her street . When the bus comes , she sits near the door . On the bus she almost opens YouTube . She does not , because she may miss her stop . She keeps the map open and watches the blue dot move along the road . Two stops have similar names . At the first one she starts to stand up . Then she reads the map again and sits back down . The cafe is at the next stop , closer to the station . She gets off and sends Leo a message on WhatsApp . She writes , " I am near the station . I have a blue jacket . " He answers at once : " I am at a table by the window . I already have tea . " Now Nina knows which window to look for . Before she crosses the road , she opens her banking app . Yesterday Leo paid for their train tickets , and she wants to send the money back before they sit down and forget . She checks her balance . The money is there . She sends it to Leo and waits . Then the app shows that the money is sent . She locks her phone and crosses the street . The cafe window is bright against the gray street . Leo waves . Nina sits down , and the first rain hits the glass . She puts the phone face down beside her cup . For the rest of the visit , the person across from her is enough .
