Jonah wants a bed in Seville for two nights , and he wants it settled before he packs . His train will arrive in the evening . In the morning he wants to walk to the Real Alcázar , the old royal palace in the center , without a long ride first . A room near the station would be easy tonight and wrong tomorrow . He sits on the sofa with his phone . Two places are still open . The first is close to Santa Justa station . The second is a small guesthouse in Santa Cruz , the old quarter beside the Alcázar . He does not look at a score . He reads one note from a guest : the courtyard is quiet at night , and the street outside is narrow . That is the kind of place he wants . He can ask about the door later . Before he pays , he reads the cancellation lines . For the room in Santa Cruz , he can cancel until the day before arrival . The room by the station does not say that . Jonah's train plans have changed once already . He wants a door he can still close . He chooses the guesthouse and leaves the station room on the screen . The page asks him to confirm his name and the two nights . He checks both . Then he writes to the host , in the box under the booking : " I will arrive late . How do I get in ? " He does not send a list of wishes . One question is enough . The host answers before Jonah stands up . " The confirmation will explain the key . Send a message when you are on the train , and I will watch for you . " Jonah reads it twice . He saves the confirmation in his email and takes a photo of it , so he is not hunting for a signal at the door . He puts the phone down . The search is over . He still has to show that page when he arrives , and he still has to write from the train . But the bed in Santa Cruz is his , the walk to the Alcázar is possible in the morning , and he can cancel until the day before if the train plan fails again . Tonight , that is the whole task .
