Their day starts very early. Everyone on the farm wakes up before sunrise, around five o'clock. They put on their working clothes and boots. The morning air is cold and quiet.
First, Mr. Miller and Ben go to the big barn to feed the animals. They give sweet hay to the cows and fresh water to the horses. The cows make loud noises because they are hungry.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Miller and Emily collect fresh eggs from the chickens. They put the eggs carefully into a large wooden basket. Then, Mrs. Miller goes to the kitchen to prepare a big breakfast.
At seven o'clock, the family sits together at the kitchen table. They eat hot eggs, fresh bread, and drink warm milk. They discuss the farm work for the morning.
After breakfast, Mr. Miller drives his tractor into the green fields. He works there for many hours. Ben and Emily help their mother in the vegetable garden. They pull weeds and water the small plants.
At one o'clock, they have a large family lunch. They eat a warm soup and fresh vegetables from their garden. After lunch, they rest under the shade of a big tree for thirty minutes.
In the afternoon, they continue their farm work. Ben and Emily clean the horse stables and brush the horses. Mr. Miller checks the fences around the fields to make sure they are safe.
As the sun goes down, they finish their work and bring the animals back into the barn. They feed them one more time and lock the doors. The farm becomes quiet again.
In the evening, the family eats a light dinner together. They talk about their day and feel happy with their hard work. At nine o'clock, everyone feels tired and goes to bed. Farm life is busy, but they love it.
