Every Friday evening, Marcus and Liam prepare for their journey. They pack their big backpacks very carefully. They put warm jackets, thick gloves, maps, and flashlights inside. They do not forget to bring a first-aid kit.
On Saturday morning, they wake up at five o'clock. Liam drives his car to Marcus's house, and they start their journey. The drive to the mountain park takes about two hours.
They arrive at the trail at seven o'clock and start their hike. They walk slowly along the snowy paths and climb the steep hills. They always use walking poles to keep their balance on the slippery ice.
During the hike, they see many wild birds and animal tracks in the snow. Marcus often takes beautiful photos of the landscape. Liam enjoys listening to the quiet sounds of the winter forest.
In the afternoon, they arrive at a small wooden cabin. The cabin is very simple and rustic. It does not have electricity or running water, but it is a safe shelter from the cold wind.
Marcus immediately builds a warm fire in the stone fireplace. Liam walks to a nearby stream to get fresh water. Then, they cook a simple hot dinner over the fire.
After dinner, they drink hot cocoa and talk about their future plans. They do not use their mobile phones because there is no signal in the mountains. They enjoy the quiet night.
On Sunday afternoon, they clean the cabin and walk back to their car. They feel tired, but their minds are clear and relaxed. They return to the city and plan their next weekend adventure.
