David always works with the birds. He has a lot of experience. He checks their wings and gives them clean water. Some birds are very friendly, but others don't like people. They stay in the back of their cages. David doesn't force them to come out. He respects their space and waits quietly near them.
At noon, the sanctuary opens for visitors. David guides small groups of school children through the park. He explains how to protect nature. He asks the children to be very quiet because loud noises scare the birds. The visitors don't bring their own pets to the sanctuary, and they don't feed the wild animals. This is a very strict rule for everyone.
In the afternoon, the doctors examine the new animals. Some animals are very weak. The doctors work hard, but they don't use heavy medicine unless it is necessary. They prefer natural food and quiet rest for the recovery of the animals.
The sanctuary doesn't close on rainy days, but the daily routine changes. When it rains, the animals stay inside, and the volunteers work in the dry offices or clean the food storage. They don't go outside during heavy rain.
At five o'clock, the visitors leave the park. The volunteers feed the animals once more. David finishes his shift at six o'clock. He feels tired but very satisfied. He doesn't go to bed late on Saturday nights because he sleeps very well after a busy day.
