Clara walks through the heavy wooden doors. The lobby is quiet. A kind librarian sits at the desk. She gives a warm smile to Clara. Clara shows her library card. The librarian tells her that the history books are on the third floor. Clara thanks the librarian and walks to the elevator.
The third floor is very silent. There are many tall wooden shelves. Clara looks at the labels on the shelves. She finds a section with books about ancient Rome. She wants to find a book with maps. She searches for a few minutes and finds an old book with a green cover.
Clara takes the book and walks to a large wooden table. The table is near a big window. The sunlight is warm and bright. A young man is sitting at the table. He is reading a thick notebook. He looks up and nods to Clara. Clara sits down and opens her bag.
She takes out a pen, a notebook, and her laptop. First, she looks at the pictures in the book. She finds an interesting map of an ancient city. She writes some notes in her notebook. She also searches for some information on the internet. Her laptop is very fast.
After two hours, Clara decides to take a break. She feels a bit tired. She leaves the table and walks to a small cafe on the ground floor. She buys a cup of tea and an apple muffin. The tea is hot, and the muffin is very sweet. She sits by the window and looks at the park.
She returns to the third floor. She sees a new student at the table. The student is writing an essay too. Clara continues her work. She finishes the essay at four o'clock. She is very pleased with her notes. She packs her things and closes the old book.
Clara carries the book back to the desk. She wants to borrow it. The librarian scans the book and gives it back to Clara. She says that Clara can keep the book for three weeks. Clara thanks her and walks out. The evening air is cool. It was a successful visit to the library.
