He was very excited from the start. My little brother ran toward the entrance as soon as we parked. He wanted to see the big cats first. He had read about lions and tigers in a school book during the week.
She is the zookeeper near the elephant area. Her name is Vera. She told us interesting facts about the elephants. She said they eat around two hundred kilos of food every day. She answered our questions patiently and with a big smile.
They live in a wide green space at the zoo. They walk slowly and eat leaves from tall trees. They use their trunks to drink water and to touch each other gently. It is amazing to watch them move together.
I liked the bird house the most. It is a large glass building full of tropical birds. They fly freely inside and sing from the branches near the glass ceiling. It felt like walking into a warm jungle.
We saw the penguins next. They walked in a funny way and made everyone laugh. He said they swim far better than they walk. They jumped into the cold pool one by one and disappeared under the water.
She stood right beside me when we watched the penguins. My sister said it was her favorite part of the whole visit. She took many photos with her small camera. She was happy and smiling all morning long.
They gave us a map of the zoo at the entrance. We followed it from area to area and explored every section. It helped us find the reptile house and the monkey island at the back of the zoo. We spent three full hours exploring everything.
He bought us ice cream near the exit at the end of the day. My father chose chocolate, and I chose vanilla. My brother wanted both flavors at once, and we all laughed at him.
We drove home tired but very happy. I told my parents I wanted to come back in the summer holidays. She said we could bring our cousins next time. He agreed and said the zoo is a great place for the whole family.
