My name is Anna. I am a student at the City Language School. My school is in the centre of the city. It is on Green Street, next to a small park. The building is tall and modern. There is a big entrance with glass doors. There are potted plants on each side of the door.

My classroom is on the second floor. There is a large whiteboard at the front of the room. There are twenty desks in the classroom. The desks are in four rows. There is a clock on the wall above the board. It is a round, white clock. There are two big windows on the left side. The windows let in a lot of light.

My teacher is Mr. Brown. He is a patient and friendly man. His lessons are always interesting. His desk is at the front, next to the board. There are some papers on his desk. There is also a cup of tea in the corner. It is his favourite cup.

I sit next to my friend Tom. He is a good student. His bag is under his desk. My bag is on the floor beside my chair. My notebook is on my desk. It is blue. Tom's notebook is on his desk. It is green. There is a pencil case on my desk too.

There is a new girl in our class. Her name is Lena. She is from a small town. Her hair is long and dark. Her seat is behind me. Her dictionary is on her desk. It is a big, red dictionary.

There are twelve students in our class. There are seven girls and five boys. I am one of the girls. We are all beginners. We can understand simple words and short sentences. We can read basic texts. We cannot speak very fast, but we can improve.

After our first lesson, Mr. Brown says, "Open your notebooks, please. Write your names at the top." I can write my name quickly. Tom can write his name too. He writes it in big letters. Lena can write her name in two seconds.

There is a break at eleven o'clock. We can go to the school café during the break. The café is on the ground floor. It is next to the library. There are sandwiches, drinks, and cakes in the café. I can buy a sandwich there. Tom can buy a juice. Lena can drink tea.

My first week is almost over. There is a good feeling in our class. My classmates are kind and helpful. Our teacher is encouraging. He can explain things clearly. I can learn a lot in this school.

There are many things I want to do. I can practise English every day. My notebook is full of new words. My bag is heavy with books. But I am happy. I am a language student now.
