My brother and I played near the pond in the middle of the park. There were ducks swimming on the water. We threw pieces of bread into the pond. The ducks swam quickly toward us and picked up the food at the water edge.
After the game, we sat on the blanket and had lunch. There were sandwiches wrapped in foil in the basket. My mother put the cups on the corner of the blanket. She poured juice from a bottle into each cup.
A dog ran toward us from the path across the park. It was friendly and wanted to play. Its owner called to it from the bench at the path. He put the dog on a lead and waved sorry to us from a distance.
My little sister found a smooth stone in the grass and put it in her pocket. My father read his newspaper in the shade. My mother watched a butterfly land on a flower at the edge of the blanket.
In the afternoon, we walked along the main path in the park. There were flower beds on both sides of the path. We stopped at the cafe near the entrance and had ice cream. My brother chose chocolate. I chose strawberry.
We came home at five o'clock. The plates went in the sink. My sister put her stone on the shelf in her room. My father said it was a perfect Sunday in the park.
