I am writing from my new home in Riverside. My family moved here three weeks ago. I want to tell you about this city because there is so much that is different from our old town.
Our street is quiet and green. There is a small park right next to our building. There are big oak trees and long wooden benches along the path. There is a pond in the middle of the park. There are ducks and geese near the water every morning. There isn''t a children''s playground in this park, but there is plenty of open space.
There are lots of good shops nearby. There is a bakery that opens at half past six. There are always fresh rolls in the window when I walk to school. There is a small bookshop next to the bakery. There are second-hand books outside on a table for very little money. There is also a flower stall on the corner. There are bright flowers outside every single day.
In the city centre there is a large indoor market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are food stalls and clothes stalls. There is a great cheese section. There are stalls with spices from many countries. There isn''t a fish market every day, but there is one on Saturday mornings.
There is a library near our flat. I go there on Wednesdays after school. There are many books for my age. There is a reading corner with comfortable chairs. There aren''t many children there in the afternoons, so it is very peaceful. There is a helpful librarian who knows all the good books.
There is also a sports centre down the road. There are indoor courts for tennis and badminton. There isn''t an outdoor pool, but there is a large heated one inside. I can join a junior swimming class on Saturday mornings. There are children from different schools there.
I miss our old street and I miss you, but Riverside has a lot to offer. There are new places to explore every week. There is even a cinema with four screens just ten minutes away. I will tell you more in my next letter.

La frase con "but" muestra contraste: qué NO hay, pero qué SÍ hay. Usa isn't para sustantivos singulares.
