Hi Mia,
How are you? I am writing to tell you about my first week at Eastwood Secondary School. There is a lot to tell.
First, there is the building itself. It is enormous. There are four floors and there are two wings connected by a covered walkway. There is a large canteen on the ground floor. There are more than five hundred students here. There is also a separate science block at the back. There are six science laboratories there. In one of them there is a real human skeleton model. There are all kinds of interesting things on the shelves.
There are thirty-two students in my form class. There is a boy called Joe who sits next to me. He is funny and kind. There is also a girl called Priya who lent me a pencil on my first day. There aren''t any students from our old school here, but I already have two friendly faces.
There is a library on the third floor. There are thousands of books and there are comfortable armchairs by the windows. There is a view of the garden from up there. There are benches in the garden and there is a football pitch in the far corner.
Is there a good canteen? Yes, there is a canteen and there is also a small sandwich bar near the entrance. There are hot meals every day. There isn''t a great vegetarian choice yet, but there is a salad bar I really like.
There is one thing I find difficult. There is a lot of homework here. There are assignments in almost every subject each week. There isn''t much free time in the evenings at the moment.
There is one more exciting thing. There is a school trip in the spring term. There are two options to choose from. There is a trip to a science museum and there is a trip to a history castle. I can''t decide which one I want.
