Thank you for your last letter. I am writing to tell you about the new things I can do this month. There is a lot of news.
First, I can ride a bike without help now. Dad can run beside me, but he doesn''t have to hold the seat anymore. I can start on my own and I can stop properly. I can''t ride fast on steep hills yet, but I can go around the whole block three times without stopping. I am very proud.
I can also cook two things on my own. I can make scrambled eggs on the stove. Mum showed me how last week, and now I can do it alone. I can also make a simple salad. I can chop soft vegetables carefully with the medium knife. I can''t use the big knife alone yet, but Mum says I can try next year.
At school I can read my French textbook without stopping at every word. My teacher says I can have a short conversation in French. I can understand simple questions when she speaks slowly. I can answer with short sentences. I can''t speak fast yet, but I can ask for help and I can say where I live.
In music class I can play my first full song on the recorder. I can read the notes slowly and I can play all of them correctly. I can''t play it fast yet, but my teacher says I can perform it at the school concert in December. I am nervous but excited.
There is one thing I still can''t do. I can''t swim one full length of the pool without stopping. My swimming teacher says I can hold the float and kick all the way across. She says I can try without the float next month. I hope she is right.
Can you come and visit us soon? I can show you everything I can do now. I can make scrambled eggs for breakfast if you stay. They are not perfect, but they are good.
