The cafe is not very big. There are only twelve tables. The tables are small and round. They are made of dark wood. There are chairs with colourful cushions. The walls are light yellow. There are plants in the corners and on the windowsill. The windows are large. They let in a lot of natural light.
There is a counter at the back of the cafe. Behind the counter, there is a big coffee machine. There are cakes and pastries under a glass cover on the counter. Their labels are handwritten. There is always something new to try.
The owner is a kind woman. Her name is Rosa. She can make the best hot chocolate in town. Her coffee is also excellent. She can remember her regular customers' favourite orders. When I come in, she can smile and say, Your usual? She knows I like a hot chocolate with a slice of lemon cake.
My favourite table is near the window on the left side. I can see the street from there. There is a tree on the pavement outside. In autumn, its leaves turn yellow and red. There is always someone interesting to watch on the street.
I can sit at my table and do my homework. There is good wifi in the cafe. I can use my laptop or my phone. The cafe is quiet in the afternoon. There are usually only four or five other customers. There is soft music in the background. It is never too loud.
When my homework is done, I can relax with my hot chocolate. I can look at people walking past the window. Sometimes my friend Amy can meet me there. We can talk and share a piece of cake. There are always two forks on the table when we order together.
My favourite cafe is more than a place to eat and drink. There is a warm, friendly atmosphere. I can feel at home there. It is my small, quiet corner of the city. I can always find a moment of calm there after a busy school day.
