We take the bus at nine o'clock. My sister sits next to me on the bus. Her name is Clara. She is ten. Her favourite colour is purple. She can talk a lot. She can ask questions all the time. I can answer most of them.
There are many passengers on the bus. They are on their way to the market or to the shops. There is an elderly man in front of us. His coat is grey and clean. There is a young woman with a small child. It can sleep through the noise of the bus.
We get off at Central Square. There is a big fountain in the centre of the square. There are pigeons near the fountain. There is a market on the left side of the square. There are stalls with fruit, vegetables, flowers, and handmade items.
My mother can find fresh vegetables at the market. She can talk to the sellers in a friendly way. My father can carry the bags. My sister and I can look at the flower stall. There are roses, sunflowers, and lavender. Clara wants roses. She says they are beautiful.
After the market, we can walk to the museum. There is a free museum on Museum Lane. There are exhibits about the history of our city. There is also a section about local wildlife. There are birds, insects, and plants in this section.
Inside the museum, there is a guide. He is a young man with a red badge on his jacket. He can take us around the exhibits. He can explain things in simple language. Clara can understand his words. She can repeat them to my parents.
At lunchtime, we can find a cafe near the museum. There are sandwiches, soups, and hot drinks. My father can pay for the food. We can sit at a table near the window. There is a park across the street. There are children playing in the park. Their parents watch from benches.
In the afternoon, we can walk along the river. There is a path by the river. There are ducks on the water. Clara can feed them with bread from her pocket. The ducks are not shy. They can come very close to the bank.
My father can take photos of the river and the old bridge. His camera is always in his bag. There is a good light in the afternoon. The bridge looks very old in the photos. Its stones are grey and rough.
We can go home at five o'clock. On the bus, Clara can sleep on my shoulder. Her eyes close quickly. I can look out of the window. There are streetlights coming on. The city is changing colour in the evening light.
It is a good day.
