We were selling furniture online and were donating clothes we did not wear. Buyers were arriving at odd hours, and one man was asking many questions about a wooden desk that was older than our marriage.
While painters were working in the new flat, I was coordinating dates with the removal company. The schedule was tight because the previous owners were leaving on a Friday and we were arriving on Saturday morning.
On moving day neighbours were offering tea and were lending tools for small repairs. A friend was driving our plants in his van because they would not survive hours in a closed truck. I was grateful for every small act of help.
The hardest moment came when the sofa would not fit through the stairwell. We were measuring angles, removing doors, and laughing nervously in the narrow hall. In the end we were calling a specialist who solved the problem in twenty minutes.
By evening the beds were assembled and the kitchen was partly functional. We were eating pizza on the floor while children from the building were playing outside our window. I was not missing the old address yet, although many memories lived there.
In the following days we were registering at local offices and were finding new routes to work. The park was becoming our evening habit, and the school run was shorter than before.
The move was exhausting, but it opened a friendlier chapter for our family. We were packing, carrying, and rebuilding daily life before the first snow appeared on the balcony railing.
