Inside the shop a assistant greeted me and asked if I needed help. I said I will look first and call her if I will find the right size. She smiled and pointed toward coats on a rack near the mirror wall.
I tried a grey jacket that looked warm but felt tight across the shoulders. I said I will try the next size, but the assistant said the larger one will arrive tomorrow from another branch. I decided I will choose a different style today instead of waiting.
On the next rack I found a blue jacket with a soft lining and deep pockets. I said I will take this one if the price will fit my budget. The assistant checked the tag and said a small discount will apply until Sunday for club members.
I signed up for the club card on my phone because registration will take only two minutes. She said points will collect on future visits and a newsletter will show seasonal sales. I agreed because I will probably need gloves soon as well.
At the counter I asked if they will alter the sleeve length. The tailor said he will shorten both sleeves by one centimetre while I will wait in the café next door. I said I will drink tea and read messages during that time.
In the café I texted my sister a photo of the jacket. She said blue will suit me at work meetings and the colour will match my grey scarves. I said I will wear it tomorrow when I will walk to the early train.
When I returned, the tailor said the jacket will feel lighter after he will remove extra fabric inside the cuffs. I tried it again and said I will pay by card because the shop will not accept cash after six.
The assistant packed the jacket in a paper bag and said the receipt will arrive by email within an hour. I said I will keep the bag for returns if the size will feel wrong after a full day at the office.
Outside the air felt colder, but I felt comfortable in the new jacket. I said the evening will stay chilly according to the forecast on my phone. A colleague passed by and said the tram will arrive in three minutes at the corner stop.
On the tram I thought about quick decisions after work. I will not shop every week, but today I will remember how will helped me choose fast without long debate. Tomorrow I will wear the blue jacket and see if colleagues will notice the change before lunch.
