My brother Marco says his bedroom is bigger than mine, but I disagree. My room is longer than his, and the closet is deeper than his small wardrobe. Marco thinks his desk is better than mine because it is newer, but my chair is more comfortable than his hard stool.
The bathroom in the old flat was colder than this bathroom. The tiles here are warmer under our feet in the morning. The shower is stronger than the old shower, and the water gets hot faster than it did before.
Our neighbour Mrs Lane visited us on Saturday. She said our hallway is wider than hers, but her balcony is larger than ours. She lives on the fifth floor, so her view is more beautiful than our view of the car park.
Dad compared the rent with our previous contract. This flat is more expensive than the old one, but the area is quieter than the busy road near the train line. Mom said peace is more important than saving a little money every month.
We walked to the market on Sunday. The bread stall is closer than the supermarket, and the fruit looks fresher than the fruit in the big shop. Marco bought apples that were sweeter than the ones we ate last week.
At school my friend Nina asked about the move. I told her the new library near our flat is bigger than our school library. She said her cousin lives in a house that is older than any flat on our street. I think our building is taller than Nina's house, but her garden is greener than our small yard.
In the evening we unpacked boxes. Dad's books were heavier than Mom's kitchen boxes. Marco carried lighter bags than Dad, but he made more trips than anyone else. By ten o'clock the flat felt homier than it did in the morning.
Before we slept, Mom said this kitchen is the brightest room she has ever cooked in. Dad joked that Marco's snoring is the loudest sound in the building. We laughed, and I thought our new home already felt warmer than the old walls we left behind.
Moving was harder than we expected, yet the new flat is better than the old one for our family. The street is calmer, the rooms are airier, and the future here looks brighter than it did beside the noisy trains.
