I enjoy the rice dishes with vegetables, and I add pepper because I like a little spice. Lily does not add pepper but she mixes yogurt with cucumber, and she says it tastes fresh and light. Omar eats quickly and talks loudly because he is hungry after football training.
Some days the queue is long but friendly because teachers help younger students find trays and seats. We wait in line and chat about homework, and time passes fast because our conversations are funny and relaxed.
I dislike very salty soup, but I never complain loudly because the kitchen staff work hard from early morning. If a meal is too salty I drink water and eat fruit, and I feel better because the sweet taste balances the salt.
The cafeteria is noisy at twelve o'clock but quiet at half past twelve because many classes eat at different times. We hear forks and laughter, and sometimes music plays softly near the drink machines. I like the energy but I also like the calm minutes before the next bell.
On Fridays the school offers a special dessert, and students smile because the week is nearly finished. Last Friday we had apple cake, and Lily saved a piece for her brother because he studies at the school next door.
Our cook Mrs Park listens to students, and she changes menus when we give polite feedback. We asked for more vegetarian options, and she added bean stew and lentil soup because many students requested plant-based meals.
After lunch we return trays and wipe tables, and we help keep the room clean because respect matters in shared spaces. I feel full but awake because good food helps me focus in afternoon classes. School lunch is simple, but it connects our day and our friends in one busy room.
