On Wednesdays I enjoy meeting my cousin Rosa at the cafe near the library. Rosa loves drawing faces in her sketchbook, and she likes ordering hot chocolate with extra foam. I prefer tea with lemon, and I hate drinking coffee late because it keeps me awake at night.
At home I enjoy helping my mother prepare dinner on busy days. She loves baking bread on weekends, and she likes teaching me how to knead dough with steady hands. I dislike chopping onions because they make my eyes water, but I like slicing tomatoes for salad when the knife feels sharp and safe.
In the evening I often love reading mystery novels before bed. My brother Carlos hates reading long books, and he prefers watching football highlights on his tablet. I enjoy guessing the ending early, and Carlos likes shouting when his team scores a surprising goal.
On Saturdays our family sometimes visits the market downtown. Dad loves tasting cheese samples, and Mom enjoys buying fresh herbs for soup. I like photographing colourful stalls, and Carlos hates carrying heavy bags even when he eats most of the snacks inside them.
Sunday afternoons feel slow and peaceful. I love practising guitar for thirty minutes, and I enjoy recording short clips to hear my progress. Carlos prefers playing video games with friends online, and he likes wearing headphones so the house stays quiet for my practice.
Free time is different for everyone in my family, but we all use like, love, enjoy, and hate with -ing forms when we describe what makes us happy or tired. Writing about these habits helps me notice what I want to keep in my weekly routine.
