Jade asks if I do the recycling this week. I say I do not remember the rota, but I do know Ben did it last Sunday. Ben laughs and says he does not mind doing it again if we help with the hallway on Saturday.
Do we share bathroom cleaning every two weeks? Jade says she does clean the sink, but she does not scrub the shower often enough. I suggest we write tasks on the fridge list because vague plans do not work in busy months.
Ben does not cook on Monday nights because he attends a language class near the station. Does he still wash his pan on Tuesday morning? He does wash it, yet he does not always wipe the stove after eggs.
I do not listen to loud music after ten, and I hope guests do not either when they visit. Jade agrees, but she does invite friends on Fridays when exams finish. Do we need a quiet rule after eleven? We do need one, and we do agree to post it near the door.
The rent payment leaves my account on the first day of each month, and Ben transfers his share on the same day. Does Jade use the shared app for bills now? She does use it, but she did not use it last year when reminders helped less.
We talk about groceries because milk disappears fast in our fridge. Do we buy two bottles on shopping day? Ben says he does buy two, yet he does not check dates before trips. I do check dates because sour milk smells terrible in warm weather.
Before we sleep, we confirm the plan feels fair. Jade does vacuum on Wednesday, Ben does trash on Thursday, and I do floors on Friday. We do not argue much when tasks stay visible on paper.
Living together works when people ask clear questions and accept honest no answers without drama. Grammar helps a little, but respect helps more when bins overflow on busy weeks.
