I am Omar. My school day starts at eight in the morning on weekdays, and classes finish at three in the afternoon. I like mornings because the corridors are quiet before lessons begin, but afternoons feel better when homework waits at home.

At eight thirty our teacher Ms Reed takes the register, and she asks if everyone brought books because Monday folders are heavy. I sit near the window, and my friend Priya sits beside me because we help each other in maths and science.

Do you enjoy art class on Tuesdays? I like drawing maps and posters, and Priya loves painting with bright colours after lunch at twelve thirty. Ms Reed hangs our work on the wall, and she shows it to parents on open evening in October.

At ten we have a short break in the playground, and I buy fruit from the canteen because I do not eat sweets before noon. Jake from my football team calls me, and he asks if I want to pass the ball with him near the goal posts.

Priya does not like cold weather in winter, but she likes running in spring when flowers appear in the school garden. She joins me at four on Wednesdays, and we practice sprints because the coach wants speed before the district race in May.

Does Jake like history lessons? He does not enjoy long dates, but he likes stories about explorers because they feel like adventure films. He tells me facts at break, and I write them in my notebook when they surprise me.

At one o'clock we eat lunch in the hall, and students talk loudly because everyone is hungry after morning classes. I share my table with Priya and Jake, and we plan a group project due on Friday because Ms Reed wants posters about local rivers.

In the afternoon we study English, and we read short texts about daily routines in other countries. I like learning new words, and Priya enjoys dialogues because she wants to travel abroad after school.

At three the bell rings, and we pack bags quickly because buses leave at twenty past three on Main Road. Jake rides with me sometimes, and he reminds me about football practice at five on Thursdays near the community centre.

Do you do homework straight after school? I do not always start immediately, but I like finishing before dinner at seven because evenings feel free afterward. Priya calls me at six, and she asks if I understood the maths sheet because question four confused her.

On Friday afternoons we clean the classroom, and Ms Reed assigns tasks to pairs of students. Jake sweeps the floor, and I wipe desks because teamwork finishes work faster. Priya collects papers, and she puts them in the recycling box by the door.

School days are busy, but I like my friends and teachers because they make learning feel friendly. I do not love every subject, yet I enjoy mornings at school and free time after
