Thursday , 14 March This morning I woke late and ran to the bus stop with wet hair . I was worrying about my presentation at college when the bus arrived three minutes early . I was finding a seat near the back when an older man was asking for help with his ticket machine . The driver was speaking calmly while passengers were waiting behind me . I was showing the man which button to press when the doors closed . Halfway to campus the traffic was moving very slowly . Cars were stopping and starting on the hill near the hospital . I was checking the time on my phone every minute because I was afraid of missing the first slide . Suddenly a cyclist was crossing the road when a car braked hard in front of us . Our bus was stopping fast , and my coffee cup was falling on the floor . People were gasping , but nobody was hurt . The driver was explaining the delay when students around me were opening laptops anyway . I was practicing the first lines of my talk quietly while rain was hitting the windows . A girl beside me was smiling and said nervous speakers always imagine the worst . When we were finally moving again , the sun was coming out between clouds . I was reading my notes one last time before the campus stop appeared . My friend Hugo was waving from the pavement when I was stepping off the bus . We were walking to the lecture hall together , and he was telling me about his own late bus last week . I was laughing because his story sounded worse than mine . Inside the room other students were setting up projectors and arranging chairs . During my presentation I was speaking slowly at first , then I was feeling more confident . The teacher was nodding when I was showing the final chart about local transport . Questions were coming , and I was answering without looking at my paper . After class I was sitting in the café with Hugo . We were planning a study session for next week when my phone reminded me about a dentist appointment . I was groaning softly because the day was already long enough . Tonight I am writing this diary entry before sleep . Last Thursday felt chaotic on the bus , but the presentation went well in the end . I was learning that small delays do not always ruin important days .
