Subject : Kitchen and hall plans — please read before Friday Hi Alex , I hope your week at the design studio is going well . You asked about our flat renovation , so I wanted to explain what we are going to do in April before the landlord is going to visit for the annual check . First , we are going to paint the hall walls in light grey because the old colour looks tired near the front door . I am going to buy rollers and tape on Saturday when the shop is going to open early . You are going to choose the exact shade from the sample cards we saved in the kitchen drawer . The kitchen floor is going to change next . A local company is going to install vinyl planks over the cracked tiles we noticed last winter . They are going to measure the room on Tuesday at four , and we are going to move the table to the living room while they work on Wednesday and Thursday . We are going to replace the broken cupboard door above the sink as well . I am going to order a matching handle online because the current one is going to fall soon if we do not fix it . You are going to help me hang the new door when the package is going to arrive , probably before the twentieth . About costs : we are going to share everything fifty - fifty as we agreed when we signed the lease . I am going to pay the floor deposit tomorrow , and you are going to transfer your half by the end of the month . The landlord is going to approve the floor change because vinyl is going to protect the surface better than old tiles . We are not going to touch the bathroom yet . The plumber is going to inspect the tap next month , and we are going to decide about new tiles in summer when savings are going to grow . For now we are going to focus on spaces guests are going to see when they visit . I am going to cook dinner on Friday to discuss colours and timing . You are going to bring the floor samples from work if your colleague is going to lend them over the weekend . We are going to take photos for the landlord before and after each step . Let me know if you are going to travel on any of those days . If you are going to be away , I am going to cover the hall painting alone and leave the kitchen work until you are going to return . Thanks for sharing this flat with patience and good humour . April is going to feel messy for a week , but the result is going to make our home brighter for the rest of the year . Best , Morgan
