Este texto describe la rutina poco convencional de un panadero que comienza su jornada laboral a mitad de la noche para hornear pan fresco.
David always wakes up at two o'clock in the morning. While the town is asleep, David gets up, drinks a cup of strong black coffee, and walks to his bakery. The streets are completely empty and quiet.
He arrives at the bakery at half past two. He immediately puts on his clean white apron and starts his work. First, he prepares the dough. He mixes flour, water, yeast, and salt in a large metal bowl.
Then, David kneads the dough with his hands on a big wooden table. He makes different shapes of bread, rolls, and sweet pastries. He places them on large trays and lets them rise.
At four o'clock, David heats the big stone ovens. When the ovens are very hot, he puts the trays inside. Soon, a wonderful smell of fresh bread fills the bakery and the street outside.
At six o'clock, David opens the front doors of his shop. The first customers arrive to buy warm bread and sweet croissants for breakfast. David always greets them with a friendly smile and chats with them.
David's helper, Lisa, arrives at seven o'clock. She sells the bread and helps the customers, while David continues to bake more pastries in the kitchen. They work as a great team.
At eleven o'clock, the morning rush finishes. David cleans the big kitchen, washes the bowls, and sweeps the floor. He checks the ingredients and orders more flour for the next day.
David closes the bakery at noon. He walks back home, eats a light lunch, and goes to sleep. He usually sleeps for five hours in the afternoon to rest his body.
In the evening, David spends time with his family. They have dinner together and watch television. David always goes to bed at nine o'clock. He loves his job because he makes people happy with his fresh bread.
