He is my brother Leo. He helps Grandma with her coat and her small suitcase. She sits in the armchair near the lamp and rests her feet. I make tea for everyone in the kitchen.
We eat dinner together at the round table. She tells stories about her old school and her first job. Leo asks questions about teachers she remembers. They laugh when she describes a strict math teacher.
On Saturday we walk to the park near the river. She moves slowly but she enjoys the fresh air and the birds. I hold her arm on the gravel path when the ground feels uneven. We stop to watch ducks on the water for a few minutes.
You can see old oak trees along the path in every season. They provide shade on sunny days and shelter when light rain falls. We rest on a wooden bench before we turn back toward home.
Leo plays cards with Grandma after lunch. He learns a new game from her and tries to win every round. She wins the first game and smiles with quiet pride. I read a book on the sofa nearby and listen to their voices.
They talk about family photos on the wall in the living room. We listen and ask about people we do not know well from old albums. She points to faces from many years ago and tells us their names.
It is a quiet weekend at home with good food and long talks. We feel happy when Grandma visits and fills the house with warm stories. I wave when she leaves on Sunday afternoon at the bus stop. They promise to call her during the week and send photos from our phones.
