On Easter Monday children paint eggs at eleven in the craft room while parents talk at the café corner. In April an music teacher offers guitar trials at four on Wednesdays for beginners. At five the same day the library cart arrives with books for all ages.
Summer brings outdoor cinema on the first Friday of June at nine at night when darkness finally falls. On warm evenings people bring blankets and arrive at eight to save space near the screen. In July a football camp runs at nine on weekdays until twelve on the field across the road.
At the August fair stalls open at two on Sunday and close at seven when lights glow on the stage. On that day local bands play at six and dancers perform at eight before fireworks at ten. In the last week of August a cleanup team meets at seven in the morning to collect litter.
Autumn schedules turn serious because language classes restart on the tenth of September at six in the evening. On Tuesday adults learn computer skills at five while teens study maths at four in room three. In October health nurses visit at two on Thursday for free blood pressure checks at the entrance.
At Halloween a costume party starts at five on the thirty-first and ends at eight for younger children. On the next day staff restock chairs at nine before normal classes return on Monday at ten. In November a charity sale opens at eleven on Saturday and accepts donations at the back door all week.
Winter heating makes the hall cosy at three when seniors meet for cards and tea at the round tables. On the fifteenth of December a concert at six features the youth choir from the school down the hill. In the final days of the year the centre closes at four on New Year Eve and reopens at ten on January second.
At every season the board posts updates on the website at six on Monday mornings for the coming week. On busy days the phone rings at nine when people ask about room hire at weekends. In our town this building keeps hours connected because neighbours meet here at the hours that fit their lives.
