Tonight I wrote the last section of my business plan for the bakery I want to open next spring. Excitement and doubt take turns in my head, so I use this diary to separate dreams from steps.
If the bank approves my loan, I will sign the lease on the shop near the station. If they request more documents, I will meet my accountant on Wednesday with updated figures. If interest rates rise again, I will reduce the renovation budget rather than borrow more.
Equipment decisions occupy half my notebook. If I buy a second-hand oven in good condition, I will save money for marketing. If the warranty expires soon, I will choose a new model with service included. If delivery delays occur, I will adjust the opening date and inform customers online.
Staff planning feels real now. If I hire one full-time baker, I will train them in my recipes during February. If weekend demand is high, I will add a part-time assistant for Saturday shifts. If someone calls in sick, I will cover the shift myself until the business stabilises.
Customers are unpredictable at the start. If we offer samples on opening day, people will spread word quickly on social media. If the coffee machine breaks, we will serve tea until the repair technician arrives. If a review criticises waiting times, we will improve the queue system instead of arguing online.
Personal life will change too. If I work six days a week at first, I will schedule one evening completely free for rest. If friends think I disappear, I will invite them for bread tasting once a month.
If this plan fails, I will learn and try a smaller market stall first. If it succeeds, I will remember tonight as the moment fear became a timetable. Either way, writing conditions down makes the future feel less like luck and more like work I can do.
