Dear Mr Hughes,

I hope you are well. I am writing about two issues in Flat 4 that might need attention before winter arrives. The radiator in the bedroom might not heat evenly, and the latch on the living-room window could be loose.

Last week the bedroom felt cold even when the thermostat was high. I might have turned the valve, yet warm water might not reach the top of the radiator. Could you arrange for someone to inspect it?

The window might close, but the latch might not lock securely. On windy nights a draft could enter, and moisture might collect near the frame. Might I ask whether a repair could happen this month?

I could be home on weekday evenings after six, or I might leave a key with the neighbour if that could help. If the visit might take longer, I may work from the library downstairs.
