We signed the lease today. The flat is brighter than our old place; therefore I feel optimistic. However, the stairs are steep, and as a result we may hire help for heavy boxes.

Wednesday

Thursday
Friends borrowed our sofa for two days. Their van was small; therefore we disassembled legs and frames. Furthermore, they brought pizza after the trip. Although I was exhausted, the meal felt like a small celebration.
Friday
Cleaning the old flat took longer than planned. Walls needed touch-up paint; however, the shop sold out of our shade. As a result, we used a close match near the wardrobe. Moreover, we hoovered twice because the inspector arrives Monday.
Saturday
Moving day arrived early. The lift worked; nevertheless, neighbours parked close to the entrance. Therefore we carried boxes through the side door. In addition, a passer-by held the door when arms were full.
Sunday
Unpacked essentials only. We slept on camp beds; however, tea bags and mugs were easy to find. Although bare shelves looked sad, morning light in the kitchen cheered us. Furthermore, we hung one picture to make the room feel ours.
